sensei Maria Ferraro
Maria has been dedicated to empowering children and youth, families and persons with disabilities both in her professional career as well as on her personal time for over two decades.
She has developed and implemented programming for group homes; City of Winnipeg swimming programs; for children and youth in the areas of mental health, FAS/FASD, autism, Down syndrome, spinal cord injuries, amputees, and the blind.
Maria’s programs set a lifelong foundation for well being, building self esteem and nurtures their self-respect, creativity and imagination. Maria has trained in Aikido for over fifteen years. She has her black belt ranking from the World Aikido Federation (Aikikai) headquarters in Tokyo, Japan.
sensei Ama Mann
Ama began his Aikido training in the UK and has been studying Aikido for fifteen years.
He has travelled extensively throughout Europe, the United States, and Japan studying the art of Aikido. Ama spent over two years as an uchi-deshi (live in student) studying Aikido and has been fortunate to have spent time with many great teachers throughout Europe, the United States, and Japan.

Camp costs
- $300 Full week*

Summer day camp runs from 9:00 to 4:00. Early drop-off (8:00–9:00AM) and late pick-up (4:00–5:00) are available for an additional fee on an as needed basis.
Ages
Martial arts summer day camps are offered for kids aged 6 to 12. Camp activities will be divided into age groups to ensure a positive learning experience. Students currently participating in our Aikido Programs, who are older than 12, can volunteer to help at any or all of these day camps at no charge.
snacks
Snacks including fresh fruits and vegetables, granola bars, water and juice will be served to keep energy levels high throughout the day. Participants must bring their own lunch.
camp Details
Activities during early drop-off and late pick-up times will be determined on an as-needed basis.
The minimum number of participants needed for a camp to run is 4 (full week participants). If a camp does not have the minimum number of participants one week before it is scheduled to start, parents will be informed and the registration fee will be returned if the participants cannot be accommodated in another camp. The maximum number of participants accepted in any given camp will be 10.
Participants should bring their dogi (practice uniform, marked with their name) and a water bottle. Participants new to Aikido can just bring a water bottle.
Cancellation policy: If cancellation is made more than 1 week before the camp is scheduled to begin, all fees are refunded minus a $25 administrative fee. No refunds are given if cancellation is made less than a week before the camp is scheduled to begin.
Our instructors are professionally qualified. The Aikido instructors are ranked and certified by the World Aikido Federation and have more than 15 years of martial arts experience. Our instructors are CPR/First Aid certified.
