Minnesota-Sweden Traditional Aikido Friendship Seminar, August 15th-18th, 2019
At this years summer Aikido Seminar at Minnesota Aiki Shuren Dojo, we were not only privileged to receive instruction from Mark Larson Sensei 6th dan, but also from Lars-Göran ‘Lasse’ Anderson Sensei 7th dan. Lasse Sensei travelled from Sweden to teach at this years seminar.
Lasse Sensei founded Torsby Aikidoklubb dojo in 1979, where he is the lead instructor. He began learning Aikido in the 1960s and has been to Japan several times to train with the late great Morihiro Saito Shihan (9th dan). He received his 5th dan by Morihiro Saito Sensei in 2002 and recently received his 7th dan from the World Aikido Federation (Aikikai) headquarters in Tokyo.
Lasse Sensei is one of the leading Aikido instructors in Scandinavia. He met Mark Larson Sensei in Japan while training with Morihiro Saito Sensei. Both Lasse Sensei and Mark Sensei are dedicated to preserving traditional Iwama Aikido as the taught by their teacher Morihiro Saito Shihan. Morihiro Saito Shihan studied Aikido for over 2 decades with the Founder of Aikido, Morihei Ueshiba O'Sensei.
