Tatami Studio ‘Winnipeg Aiki Shuren Dojo’ attended the First Annual North Dakota Aiki Shuren Dojo’ Aikido Seminar with Mark Larson ‘Takuto’ Sensei 6th dan.
On day one we started off with an awesome kids class! The kids have never seen anyone get thrown so hard, the way Mark Sensei threw Ama. It was great to see their little faces light up with surprise! After the kids class the adults got to play. We worked on Taijitsu ‘iriminage’ variations with counters at the dojo in the morning. Later, at the capital, we worked on Aiki weapons-suburi with awase practice and 13 jo kata and awase. Congrats to our Aiki friends Jason and Mel! Mark Sensei presented them with their new ‘dans’! Jason received his Yondan-4th degree black belt and Mel received her Shodan-1st degree black belt!
Traditional Aikido at its finest, taught by Mark Sensei as Morihiro Saito Shihan taught him!
On day two, Sensei taught awesome Traditional Aiki Weapons (tachi-dori, jo-dori and tanto-dori) as he was taught directly by his Sensei (for nearly a decade) Morihiro Saito Shihan. Thank you Sensei for another awesome seminar and thank you to our hosts Jason and Mel and the North Dakota Aiki Shuren Dojo and all their students for a great weekend!
